Description

Four-dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy (4D-STEM) is currently becoming as a powerful imaging tool in both Physical and Life Sciences. Jointly organised by members of Physical and Life Science communities, this workshop openly welcomes scientists from both fields. Lectures are dedicated to introduce the foundations of STEM, 4D-STEM and cryo-(S)TEM including centre-of-mass (COM) and DPC imaging of materials and proteins. Additional lectures will introduce advanced direct and iterative ptychography methods both conceptually and in recent Life and Physical Sciences applications, including super-resolution capabilities, dose aspects and 3D imaging, as well as cryo-ptychography workflows for data acquisition, processing and reconstruction. Finally, educational live tutorials of data processing for different typical Physical and Life Science cases are presented. The interdisciplinary spirit and mutual training atmosphere of the workshop is emphasised leaving ample room for open exchange, discussion and networking on emerging topics of 4D-STEM.
