Local protein synthesis in neurons

Plenary Lecture

<p>The complex morphology of neurons, with synapses located very far from the cell body, necessitates the localization of important cell biological machines and processes within dendrites and axons. I will discuss our studies on the localization and translation of mRNAs at synapses and how local proteomes contribute to the diversity of brain synapses.</p>
