<p>There remains a need in the field of proteomics for orthogonal assays that can provide deeper visibility into parts of the proteome that are less accessible to mass spectrometry. Next-Generation Protein Sequencing™ (NGPS), developed by Quantum-Si, is poised to bridge this gap by directly interrogating protein sequence and diversity at the single-molecule level.&nbsp;Dr. Meredith Carpenter will provide an overview of NGPS and an update on the latest applications, including proteoform detection and protein barcoding.&nbsp;Dr. Neil Kelleher will then discuss his laboratory’s work on combining top-down mass spectrometry and NGPS to more comprehensively characterize the cytokine IL-6.&nbsp;</p>
