A robot-assisted laser osteotome has been developed to enable effective and safe osteotomy. The innovative surgical system combines a cold short-pulse laser cutting process with optical monitoring of residual bone thickness during hard tissue removal. This enables precise control of the cutting depth and protects high-risk structures such as the spinal cord.
