Introduction: This study investigates the correlation between insertion depth of CI622 lateral wall electrodes and auditory performance in postlingually deafened adults with cochlear implants (CI). A cohort of 120 CI patients was evaluated using preoperative and postoperative cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) to assess cochlear length, electrode insertion depth, cochlear coverage, and insertion angle. Postoperative auditory performance was measured using the Freiburger Monosyllabic Speech Test in quiet at 65 dB SPL, the HSM Sentence Test at 10 dB SNR, and the adaptive Oldenburg Sentence Test in the S0N0 condition. The study aimed to determine whether specific electrode array positioning parameters were associated with improved auditory outcomes.
