Introduction:The use of social media represents a possibility to reach a larger number of people, being accessible to different social classes and can be linked to the dissemination of scientific knowledge (1-3). Objectives: Analyze the "Instagram" of the Trauma Academic League and observe the metrics that contributed to the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Materials & Methods:The analysis was based on posts, reels and stories from the Trauma League's Instagram content trauma prevention and the dissemination of the work done by the league published on the official page (@ligadotraumaunicamp) from July 12, 2023, to October 9, 2023. We used data provided by the "insights" tool of the application, that allows analysis from a maximum of the last 90 days, to identify the reach of the posts, the publications with the highest engagement and information about the followers. Results:The official profile had 2,161 followers and reached 2,587 accounts during the analyzed period and the post with the highest reach was a carousel featuring photos of the new league management, reaching 1,366 accounts, 53 shares and 179 likes. The second post with the highest engagement was about a campaign to prevent trauma related to motorcyclists, reaching 940 accounts, 70 shares and 80 likes. Two reels posted in partnership with another Instagram account (@trauma_unicamp), sharing activities related to P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth) Program, obtained 2,873 and 2,152 views. Besides, 47.5% of the followers are residents of the city of Campinas, where the project is developed, 74.9% are between 18 and 34 years old and 65.6% are women. Conclusion:We concluded that posts on relevant topics at the moment attract greater visibility, as do posts showing people's faces. Social media has proven to be an effective means of disseminating educational content and promoting health, reaching a significant number of Instagram accounts and raising awareness among the public.
